Hi, Ezra,
A gorgeous cover I can easily see on a bookseller’s display table! You mentioned Gothic but we want to hint at time period and darkness while keeping the cover beautiful and appealing. It’s really important the cover contains imagery that matches the title. If the owl is not quite right describe what it looks like as I couldn’t find an image in my research. Design Analysis
Re the gold background behind the author name–there really isn’t a way to wrap it into the imagery. I really don’t want to distract from the second scene of the owl behind the behind. I think I might take the crack past the left edge so it’s open the whole way. Please scroll down for complete cover design.
Please Note: Any imperfections will be corrected upon design approval. Colors will render according to individual computer monitor settings. Print and digital are two different mediums. Please order a hard copy from the printer to review for color/tone adjustments. For example, gloss covers tend to print darker than matte.
