Jack’s Handy List of Idioms

Greetings, Jack,
After playing around for two days, I know these two things. In order to see the sketch of you, we need a solid background as much as possible, and we need contrast between text and background. Third, we need this cover to be a little fun with the fonts to attract the widest audience. You’ll see two versions. First version is more your instructions. Second version is my take. Design Analysis
A white or cream background was still too bright in a distracting way in the first sample. It needed to be balanced out with a softer color. I think I would lighten it a bit though. This second cover is using more texture in a way that keeps the text and the sketch prominent. Please scroll down for the enlarged cover view in full.
Please Note: Any imperfections will be corrected upon design approval. Colors will render according to individual computer monitor settings. Print and digital are two different mediums. Please order a hard copy from the printer to review for color/tone adjustments. For example, gloss covers tend to print darker than matte.
